Hand-embroidered Marin Blouse

240.00

Light as air Philippine cotton pullover blouse with boxy silhouette and hand-embroidered detail throughout. The symbol on the back is the 'Pakudos' that is believed to bring protection to the wearer. The cotton is slightly sheer in full daylight, wear with a cami if you prefer a more modest look.

Mangyan women take up to a month to complete these traditional garments. Embroidery was historically the shortest part of the process as the Mangyan used to plant, harvest, separate, dry, spin, and then weave the cotton fibers. Today, however, the cotton is purchased at the market and then cut, assembled + embroidered.
