Antique Chinese Handwoven Cotton Cloth - red/green stripe
Medium weight: suitable for shirts or lightweight jackets, dressmaking, tote bags, interior projects, etc
Handwoven cotton fabric, easy to sew and in good antique condition though of course with some minor signs of age. This was traditionally handmade as a dowry item and would be used for both bedding and everyday wear in rural China. With the growing availability of industrially made textiles, these rustic traditional fabrics were handed down as heirlooms.
As this is made from homespun natural fibers and handwoven on a wooden loom, there are slubs and thread skips in the weave- but these imperfections are what we believe make it more beautiful.
