Deadstock Scottish Angora/Lambswool Suiting

$57.00

Medium weight: suitable for suiting & home/upholstery applications.

This suiting wool is a 75/25 Lambswool/Angora, known colloquially in Scotland as ‘Lamora’. The advantage of lamora over lambswool is that the softer angora hair gives a much smoother luxurious feel than 100% lambswool or merino. The advantage of lamora over pure angora is that the lambswool binds the longer angora hairs together and prevents the shedding and pilling that can often be associated with pure angora garments. Lambswool is also harder wearing than angora and so contributes to the longevity of the garment too. This deadstock yardage is fiber dyed in a quiet almost neutral blue. Has a lovely soft sheen and is gentle against the skin. As it’s opaque and soft, so a lining isn’t necessary, but may be useful in some projects, like coats, for greater wearability. As this is a deadstock fabric, it will not be restocked.

  • approx 61” wide and sold by the yard.

  • cut lengths are non-refundable

  • samples unavailable due to small qty

  • woven in Scotland

  • 75% Lambswool 25%Angora
